Radio Play Report

Radio Play Report

We recently completed a very cool eight-week college and independent radio campaign. Here are some of the highlights:

7 stations charted the album throughout the campaign, including 2 CORE (large audience) stations - WRIU (Kingston, RI) [peaked at # 13] and WUMD-2 (N.Dartmouth, MA) [peak #27]. Other great support came from KWCR (Ogden,UT) [peak #10], WALT (Davidson, NC) [peak #6], WKRK (Southfield, MI) [peak #25], WLSO (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) [peak #26], and WMHB (Walterville, ME) [peak #28]. All in all, 159 stations total added the record, with 121 reporting light or better airplay while 47 of those stations reported medium or better airplay. But the the fact that the campaign has ended doesn't mean the spins haven't stopped, not by a long shot, so keep your ears open, and if you like what you hear, ask for more, more, more. And, folks, support your independent and college radio stations so they can continue to bring you something other than mainstream mediocrity.

So, if you are in these areas, please continue to request us. We always appreciate the support. Thanks!

Toby @ Carmodys' Every Wednesday

Hi. Just a heads up. Toby will be playing every Wednesday night at Carmody's Irish Pub on Superior St. in sunny downtown Duluth. He'll be good to you.

Shows start around 10:00PM

That is all.

Special Request

Remember when you helped us during the radio contest last year? Because of your votes, we ended up in Florida performing a label showcase which landed us a record deal! That was cool. If you weren't around for that, here's another opportunity you can join us in and we can't do it without everyones help. We need everyone to vote for us each day until Jan 1st. Simply click the link below to go to the website, rank the four songs we have listed and your done. You can only vote once a day however that's the key. We need you to vote once a day until Jan 1st. I know, it's a huge request, but it only takes two minutes to potential help us get to the next level. We don't want to spill the details of the contest unless we win. Just know it's a good thing! Save the link to your favorites, or simply click this link each day. You are the best fans we've ever had. Our fans can kick other bands fans butts!! When all said and done, we'll be best friends too. Thanks all!!!!

CREEM is yummy

To all who care. It seems the well known Music magazine "CREEM" will be reviewing our album High School. Or rather, has reviewed it. The word form our City Canyons publicist is that it is a positive review. We don't really know more than that at the moment but it is possible it may be in the very next issue. We'll of course make some stink as to alert our fanbase when it is availalbe. I'm sure we'll also post the review on this and our website. Unless it turns out that the review is bad, in this case, let us never speak of it again.

Love,

Toby

Home and away

Yes, well, giant thanks to those who helped or just came out to the shows on the tour. There was good, there was bad, and much inbetween. Made some new friends and fans, and some new connections... Meanwhile, all is quiet at home. Thought I'd share a few things... While on the road I was watching TV, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was on AMC, and during a commercial break, AMC ran some montage of footage of all these cool movies, mostly older, and it had this cute little tune in the backround, I was in a certain mood and the whole thing seemed really effective and sweet and what have you, anyways, at the end, they showed who's song it was, and it was Mason Jennings. I thought, dirty son-of-a bitch, then I thought. Wow, cool tune. I went and checked it out and it really is this little sweet tune. It's called "Be Here Now" I'm sure some of you are Mason Jennings fans already, but I had never really listened to him before, Anyways, I guess I'm a fan now. I don't get to surf around that much and check out different artists, Known or unknown, but I'm finding ones here and there that are really good. Check out The New Rags out of Brooklyn. They are on our top 8, Jerry Lee Lewis or the Beach Boys meets the White Strpies?? Also on the top 8 is Lavander Diamond. But go to their website and find this tune that Becky Stark(she's the singer) does on her own called "why oh Why" I think... Yes, well, I'll blog again soon about... things, and... Goodbye.

Tour Pluto

CCSA(center for changing shit around): "We're sorry to inform you Pluto, but you are no longer a planet."

Pluto: "Bah... labels."

It's for charity, you know

So this Friday Aug. 18th. we are playing in the keyport liquor parking lot. I think we start at 11pm or 10pm or, I don't know. right after Kip Winger plays. I think he wants to go to bed early, so we're closing. Anyways, all the money($10 suggested donation) goes to Superior schools music programs. Which is nice, that's right, it is very nice indeed. Who doesn't want their neighbors kid to learn how to play the violin, by the window, all day. So go, you lazy bastards. I'll see you out there. Our friend from central Wisconsin, Mark Little, is bringing his band up and they're cool, then I think Winger plays, then us. There will also be a dunk tank, so you can put up a certain amount of money to get someone in it and then, you know, throw balls at it I guess, and somebody gets wet or something. There will be grown men, drunk, acting like children. Children crying. Kip Winger.
